Happy International Women’s Day!

With today being international women’s day, Lindsey and I felt inspired to post our first blog post!  Starting an event planning business has been a longtime dream of ours. We talked and dreamed about it for YEARS and finally decided to move full steam ahead in June of 2018.  It was scary and exciting all at the same time. Would we find our place in a fairly saturated market? Would clients connect positively to our style? There were so many unknowns, but ultimately Lindsey and I felt passionate about creating events for couples that reflect who they are and don’t cost a fortune.  We knew as long as we stayed true to that, we would find fulfillment in our work.

What we didn’t know was how welcoming this new industry would be to us.  The support and encouragement we have received from vendors has been overwhelming.  And coincidentally , most of the vendors we work with are women! Unfortunately, there is a stigma associated with women that we work against each other or don’t support one another.  Well, this couldn’t be farther from the truth for us! We have established life long partnerships with many of our vendors (or now “friendors” as one of our beloved florists coined us).  These boss babes are beyond talented, genuine, and committed to their crafts. We continuously support each other and root each other on now matter how far apart we are.

This is what International Women’s day represents to us.  Women working hard at their craft, grinding every day to provide clients with the best possible quality, all the while also being wives, moms, aunts and friends.  We support each other on the sidelines and ultimately find success because what we do truly fulfills us.

As I sit here writing this, I can’t help but look over at my 2 week old daughter, Brooklyn, and think about her and her 2 year old sister, Madelyn’s bright futures.  Lindsey and I are surrounded by future boss babes. Lindsey has three nieces and I have two daughters and a niece. Our hopes and dreams for these girls are that they find something they love and go for it!  Go after what you love, what you’re passionate about, what lights a fire in you. Because if you do, you’ll never regret it. It won’t always be easy, but you will find true happiness.

So, to all the boss babes and future boss babes out there, we cheers to you!  Keep on doing you, girls, because you are FABULOUS!
